Task tracking helps employees and managers to keep track of work-related activities and monitor progress towards goals. This information is useful in a number of ways:
Employee Progression: Task tracking allows employees to see what they have accomplished, identify areas where they need to improve, and set realistic goals for their future development.
Performance Evaluation: Task tracking provides a record of an employee's performance over time, which can be used to evaluate their contributions and determine their eligibility for raises and promotions.
Better Collaboration: Task tracking can facilitate communication and collaboration between team members and departments, ensuring everyone is working towards a common goal.
Increased Productivity: Task tracking helps employees prioritize their work, reduce duplication of effort, and increase their overall efficiency and productivity.
Overall, task tracking is an important tool for employee and managerial success, as it supports career progression, performance evaluation, improved collaboration, and increased productivity.

Comments/Updates
There is no doubt that this is the most important column. Here is where you can provide the most recent update.
The text column here is more free-form, so you can type whatever you want. Keeping the updates chronologically is a good way to make sure they are read in order.
Keeping the updates chronologically allows everyone to see how the task has been progressing and when issues have arisen. In addition, it gives a clear picture of what the team members are doing.
